The Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)
credential proves that you have the skills to successfully support end users
and to successfully troubleshoot desktop environments running on the Microsoft
Windows® operating system.
MCDST Certification Requirements
An MCDST candidate should have six months of experience working with
a desktop operating system. MCDST candidates are
required to pass two core exams. Elective exams are not required.
70-271 focuses on operating
systems such as Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home Edition.
70-272 focuses
on administration of desktop applications. The emphasis is on
supporting and troubleshooting desktop applications, NOT on using these
applications.
